I found this recently, and I think this may be my very first ever pattern design. Looking at the handwriting, I think I must have done it around 1991 - 1992, so I would have been 7 or 8 years old. Vague memory of sitting at the dining room table with felt tips pouring over this but I can’t be sure. Planning on producing this as a repeat at some point, mistakes and colouring over the lines included.

There are examples of teamwork everywhere at the moment, what with the Olympic games in full swing. Teamwork has always existed in the partnership between two printers working together to create a design on a repeat length. Without it the design usually ends in chaos. I wonder if there are any Olympic style records related to screen printing? Anyone hold the record for the fastest 10m three colour repeat length?

A snippet of some age old degree work. Slowly working through a back catalog of textile print design work since University to put up on the website, which has been a long time coming! Better late than never. Click on the link on my blog header to see progress so far.

Planning on heading to this before it’s too late! Freya Faulkner, who is already building up an impressive client base through her prints, is showing work. ‘Bichromie’ is the concept and the French print production term for ‘two-colours’. Visually, even the use of just two colour layers can have some hugely interesting results. It will be great to see how the illustrators at Camberwell College of Arts have approached this concept.
